Looking around she could see that hundreds of other Practitiners were leaving also. Yeah the Last Train leaving was at 9:00 P.M. and from the mob of people waiting it was not going to be big enough.
Jack finds that his wife Jenny is "out of sync" with him. When his son goes off to college, he goes with him Alamosa to get away from her. He looks for someone to "run" around with and finds Dana. Is she the one to end his loneliness? They do fall in love... or maybe not.

We meet many people as we go through life. Some of whom are apparently friendly, but regretfully others are apparently hostile. But then again are we ever sure why they are showing that hostility and/or who it is really aimed at? This is a little tale of misunderstanding, or maybe misinterpretation, of someone's motives.

The second story of the pair, although really the first (go figure?). Both these tales developed out of one basic idea, that's been kicking around in my head for some considerable time now. I had almost completed writing this one when the idea for "that scene" jumped into my head and that dictated the second scenario. There was just no-way that I couldn't write it!
The city of Haarlem in The Netherlands has set a prize of 100,000 florins to the person who can grow a black tulip. This begins a competition between the country's best gardeners to win the money, the honour and fame. The young and bourgeois Cornelius van Baerle has almost succeeded, when he suddenly is thrown into the Loevestein prison. There he meets the prison guard's beautiful daughter Rosa, who shall be his comfort and help, and at last his rescuer.
